How Daily Quests, XP and ranks work in Arise

Arise is a workout tracker with RPG-style progression. Your plan tells you what to train, your Daily Quest brings today’s objectives together, and XP and ranks give you milestones to work toward. They are connected, but they are not the same thing.

Start with today’s Daily Quest

Open Home and look at Quest Info. Training days and recovery days can have different objectives. Tap a row to see its details or open the relevant logger.

A training objective follows the scheduled workout. Other rows can cover steps, hydration, sleep and mobility, depending on the habits you have enabled. Steps and sleep can be entered manually or use optional Apple Health or Health Connect sources.

For an ordinary workout, completion requires valid completed work for every required exercise. Adding the same exercise twice creates two separate entries to complete. Editing an unstarted workout updates its ordinary requirements, but does not itself earn credit.

XP, level and rank are different milestones

XP records eligible progression, and your level shows how that XP adds up. Your rank is a separate milestone: reaching its XP qualification does not automatically change the rank badge.

When you qualify for the next Rank Trial, open its challenge card and review the briefing. The app shows the assigned workout, availability and pass requirements. Start only when it is available and you are ready; a successful verified trial earns the promotion.

Challenge results can be verification pending after a session finishes. Until verification completes, the app should not be treated as having confirmed new XP or a promotion. Logging extra duplicate completions does not create unlimited rewards.

Where Weekly Dungeons fit

Weekly Dungeons are optional challenges with their own issued workouts and deadlines. Read the requirements before entering, and use the timing and status shown in the app rather than assuming a challenge is always available.

A dungeon is not a shortcut for completing your scheduled plan workout or Daily Quest. It has its own result. Rank Trials can take priority in Home’s challenge space, so the visible card may change as your progression changes.

Once a challenge has been issued, changing your ordinary plan does not reduce that challenge’s requirements. It is fine to leave an optional challenge for another time.

What happens when you miss a day?

Daily quest progress resets for a new day. Previously earned XP, rank and workout history are not wiped because a quest was left unfinished.

That does not turn a missed workout into a completed one. Your schedule and past records still reflect what happened. Return to your plan, use the available planning controls for future sessions and continue at your own pace.

Train alongside friends without changing your rank

Private, invite-only Guilds compare weekly consistency against each member’s own workout goal. Guild standings are separate from XP and rank, and doing extra workouts beyond the scoring rules does not create an unlimited advantage.

Use progression as encouragement to keep a routine, not as a reason to ignore rest or push through a session you should stop. Arise’s challenges are optional, and the app is not a substitute for medical advice.
